I have been really lucky this year with an incredible commission. Through my design business we have done the St Paul's Cathedral Christmas card for a number of years now. This year the theme was to be Star of Wonder and so I proposed a lino print of the cathedral with a Christmas tree complete with star front and centre of the design.
The client loved the concept and so over a number of days I cut and printed the design. The print was done in one colour and then I photographed the image and imported it into illustrator to digitalise it so I could alter the colours.
The design uses more colours than my usual work but I am so happy with the way it turned out. The cards are now available at the St Paul's shop as well as online in a pack of 6. The cards are wrapped in a paper belly band meaning the cards are plastic free this year.
It really was a dream commission and I wanted to thank the team at St Paul's especially Garry & Laura for helping to make it happen.
You can buy the cards here.
Here are some work in progress shots as well as the finished design.
