Over the last 2 years I have been creating prints of buildings I find interesting in Godmanchester. I have done one a month and have built up quite a collection. As it was approaching my 50th birthday and after taking part in many group shows during my career I felt it was time for my own exhibition. WHERE I AM NOW is a celebration of where I am after 50 years both artistically and physically. The prints are a representation of Godmanchester homes, community buildings and points of interest.
PHYSICALLY
I have moved around quite a lot over the years but I have been living in beautiful Godmanchester for a number of years now. While living here I have been inspired by the quirky buildings that surround me.
ARTISTICALLY
I have been developing my print style using Lino printing, usually creating a 1 colour lino printing block and adding colour where needed using tissue paper to give a bold pop of colour. The use of tissue paper goes back to my early days at Art College and I have revived it to create what I believe is a very unique style.
For the Island Hall pieces I have collaborated with free embroidery artist Tina Crawford. Her relaxed more spontaneous approach adds another dimension to my more graphic work. You can find out more about Tina on her website tinacrawford.co.uk

The exhibition is being held in the Minerva Room (upstairs) at the Commemoration Hall | 39 High Street | Huntingdon | PE29 3AQ and runs from 4TH - 15th September 2023.
